XX111 name of the work itself suggests the central idea of Ramanuja's system as the name Prabodhacbandrodaya suggests that of Sankara's. The rising of the Moon of True knowledge dispels the darkness of ignorance and effects salvation according to Sankara. The rising of the Sun of the Lord's Grace (Sankalpa) dispels the darkness of Samsara according to Ramanuja. Dosika had a very high respect for Kalidasa whom he called Kavisarva Bhauma (the prince of poets). He wrote the Hamsasandesa after the manner of the great poet's Meghasandesa. The Hamogasandesa is one of the sweetest songs in Sangkrit. The Yadavabhyudaya is a long and beautiful epio poem on the life of Krishna. Our author would not write a single line on any theme not partaking of a religious nature. Even his poetical works inculcate forcibly the principles of his religion. He was constantly immersed in religious and philosophical thought and even his poetical productions could not escape the influence of that all-absorbing thought. He has put in beautiful verse bis ideas of philosophy and religion. His Tattvamuktakalapa is a treatise in verse on all philosophical and religious questions. He has himself written upon it an exhaustive commentary known as the Sarvarthasiddbi. The original and its commentary have been published in Benares.
