Both wealth and women make erooked shifts like serpent-nymphs.-[भुजा]-भुजङ्गीमा परिसर्प- णानि वक्रगमनानि द्रुतगमनानि वा कुर्वन्ति. Metre (उपेन्द्रवज्रा+इन्द्रवमा) उप- जातिः. अनन्तरोदीरितलक्ष्मभाजी पादौ यदीयावुपजासयस्ता:. The verse is cited in the Subhâsluitaratnabhápdagára. P. 92. L. 9-10 (Verse 13). One should not love females as they dishonour the impassioned. Still a female should be enioyed when full of affection but discarded when void of it.---[faramarat)- अमनुरागिणी. आर्या Metre. P. 92. L. 12-15 (Verse 14). These prostitutes laugh or weep for the sake of wealth, make others confide in them but do not confide themselves. Therefore a man possessed of noble birth and character should abandon courtesang like Jasmine in the crematory ground. The verse occurs in Subhashitaratnâkara, also in Nttisataka but with these diserepencies :-कार्यहेतोः for वित्तहेनोः, नार्यः for वेश्याः, श्मशानघटिकाः for स्मशानसुमना-सुमनाः]-'सुमनाः पुष्पमालत्योः स्त्रियां ना धीरदेवयोः' इनि मेदिन्यादरेकत्वमपि. 'पुष्पं सुमनाः कुसुम' इति नाममाला.. हसन्तं प्रहसन्त्येता रुदन्तं प्रदन्स्यपि । अप्रियं प्रियवाक्यैश्च गृह्णन्मि कालयोगतः ।। Sulh&shitaratnabhändayârn. 'संमोहयन्ति मदयन्सि विडम्बम्ति नियिन्ति रमयन्ति विषादयन्ति । एताः प्रविश्य सदयं हृदयं नराणां किं नाम वाममयना न समाचरन्ति। Subhishitaratnåkar. Metro *. The verseis cited in Subhashitaratnabhanđâgåra. P. 92. L. 17-18 (Verse 15). They are fickle like oceanic Waves; their love is of short duration as is the redness of twilight clouds. Women drain the man of his riches and then cast him off like a squeezed (piece) of red Jac.-हतार्थाःहूतः अर्थः याभिः-who hare exhausted wealth.-[निरर्थम्.]निर्धन-penniless. The verse occurs in Subhashitaratnakara and Bbândagára. Metre Teat.--cf. 'अलक्तको यथा रक्तो निष्पीय पुरुषस्तथा, अबलाभिलाद्रतः पादमूले निपात्यते.' P. 92. L. 20-21 (Verse 16). Fixing their heart on one, they cast glances at another. They caress one but pine for another.
