- P. 22, 1. 1.MS. B has the following note in its margin on the opening
- of this Act :-
- एष उत्तराङ्कस्य पूर्वाङ्कानुसंगतस्वादङ्कावतारः प्रवेशकविष्कम्भकादिशून्यः । प्रथमाङ्के
- विदू । तेण हीत्याराभ्य अह वा मिअभङ्गस ज्जेव्व उट्ठावइस्सदोत्युपक्रमे मृदङ्गं
- शब्दश्रवणानन्तरं सर्वाण्येव पात्राणि प्रथमाङ्कप्रक्रान्तानि पात्रसंक्रान्तदर्शनं द्वितीयाङ्कादावारम्भः । अङ्कावतारलक्षणं प्रतापरुद्रे ।
- P. 22, 1. 1.MS. B has the following note in its margin on the opening
यत्र स्यादुत्तरङ्कार्थः पूर्वाङ्कार्थानुसंगतः ।
असूचिताङ्कपात्रं तदङ्गावतरणं मतम् ॥
- P.22,1.7- तेन हि, ‘well then, if so? तेन हि corresponds here exactly
- with the Marâthî बरें तर मग.
- P. 22, 1, 7–अत्रभवतोः, scil. आचार्ययोः -एवमवेद्य स्वनियोगमशून्यं कुरु, ‘ tell
- them so, and go thou about thy business. Lit . 4
- execute the command given to thee' अशून्यं कुरू= अनुतिष्ठ. This means that he
- is to deliver the message to the teachers, and is not to return
- again to the king. No particular command (नियोग) is referred
- to. For similar instances of स्वनियोगमशून्यं करू, ccf. Śâkuntala,
- p. 36, 1. 19; p. 46, 1. 13; p. 136, 1.7, Calc. Ed. 1860.
- P. 22, 1. 12.-तस्याश्चतुर्थवस्तुकप्रयोगं श्रोतुम् , ‘to hear one-fourth of the
- whole piece performed with the gestures belonging to it. MS G
- reads चतर्थवस्तुकं प्रयोगम, which perhaps is a clearer reading
- than ours.
- P. 22, 1. 19.MS F, having given मक्षिकं as the Sanskrit ofमख्खिअं
- very properly remarks : “ मक्षिकाशब्देन धारिणो कथ्यते. ”–-अप्पमत्तो
- being cautious, i.e. cautiously.
- P. 28, 1. 6–सत्वस्था भव• • Be well composed, ’ do not be bashfu”.
- P. 28, 1, ९–प्रमृष्टे इव, as if they were planed of;like boards that
- are thinned off by the plane, ie. that were so smooth.
- P.22,1.7- तेन हि, ‘well then, if so? तेन हि corresponds here exactly
