When we proposed the publication of this Poem in our Series a number of our friends enthusiastically wel- comed the suggestion and kindly promised us all possible help from themselves. Mr. S. Krishnaswamy Aiyangar M. A., M. R. A. S., F. R. Hist. S, Mysore, sent us a fine palm-leaf manuscript copy of Appayya Dikshita's Com- mentary from Canto 13 to 24 being the portion not at all printed up to now. Mr. Anbil S. Venkatachariar procured for us a palm leaf manuscript of the text and the commentary of the 3rd Canto. Pandit R. V. Krish- uamachariar went through the final proofs offering us his valuable suggestions as regards the various readings, while Pandit M. C. Satagopichariar undertook the ardu- ous task of wading through some of the first proofs. Pandit S. Subrahmanya Sastrigal was kind enough to prepare the copy for the Press and Mr. P. G. Sundaram Aiyar B.A., L.T., lent us the use of his Telugu edition of the book. Venkatachariar informed us of the existence of another manuscript in the late Mr. Nathamuni Ramaswamy Aiyangar's house. At once we applied to his nephew Mr. N. R. Srinivasa Raghava Aiyangar who readily obliged us with his uncle's valuable manuscript and we are thus specially indebted to him for this kindness. This manuscript contains the text only and the readings found herein are
