पश्यन् = seeing (v. 8 ). शृण्वन् hearing (v. 8 ). भासीनः being seated ( xiv. 23 ). हन्यमानः = being slain ( ii. 20 ).
श्रोतव्यः = to be heard (ii. 52 ). कर्तव्यं = to be done (iii 22 ). कार्य = to be done ( xviii. 5 ).
प्रोक्तवान् = have (or hast, or has ) said (iv. 1).
आविष्ट := seized or possessed with (i, 28). भक्तः = devoted (ix. 31 ). सक्तः attached ( v. 12 ).
योत्स्यमान = going to fight (i. 23 ).
Many nouns are formed by infतectional modifications of other nouns :
पार्थःthe son of पृथा (ii. 3.)
कौंतेयः, the son of कुंती. (ii. 14. )
So सौभद्रः from सुभद्रा ; द्रौपदयः from द्रौपदी which itself is formed from द्रुपद &c. (i. 6. ).
अक्लेद्यःअदाह्यःअशोष्यः &c. meaning ‘ not capable of क्लेदः, or दाहःor शोषः &c., ( ii. 24 ).
सत्त्वं = सत् + त्वं = good-ness:
अलोलुप्त्वं = un-avaricious-ness ; अतिमानिता = very-proud xiv. 2 )
ज्ञानी = ज्ञान-possessing ; ( vii. 18).
ज्ञानवान् vii. 82 ).
कुतः ( from किं )= 'from which (place ), ( ii. 2 ); ततः from तत्, - then, thence,' ( vi. 45 ).
धर्म्य = <in accordance with धर्मः’ (ii . 31 );
अष्टधा=in अष्ट or eight ways ( vii. 4 ). &c., &c., &c.,
