Slokas 9-11 give the methods of finding the areas of the portions cut from Khadir, Sriparna, Jambu, Bija, Kadamba and Amli. (GEOGRAPHY ) Slokas 1-3 give a description of the orbits of planets. Slokas 4-5 describe the earth's position in space. Slokas 6-7 give the position of Meru. Slokas 8-9 give the positions of the four places, Lanka, Yamakoti, Sidhapura and Romaka. Slokas 10-12 give the positions of islands and oceans. Sloka 13 gives a description of the inhabitants of the lower region and supports the idea as to Meru being in the extreme north. Sloka 14 describes the directions in which the places are situated.
