He prayed devontly every day in the terms of his Abhitistava for the expulsion of the Mussulmans from the neighbourhood of Srirangam and for the safety of the temple. For about half a century a Mabomedan dynasty ruled at Madura. The kingdom of Vijayanagar was revived by the sage Vidyaranya in 1335 A.D. It grew greater and greater under succeeding rulers under the able guidance of the sage. The ruling family set up by the sage sent out its various members and generals to subdue the Southern country and consequently the whole of the South came under their sway. In 1365, the Mussulman dynasty at Madura was completely overthrown by the Vijayanagar troops, and Southern India was then freed from all fear of molestation by Mabomedans for about two centuries until the fall of the Vijayanagar kingdom after the battle of Talikota. Desika, who wae daily praying "कलिप्रणिधिलक्षणैः कलितशाक्यलोकायतैः तुरुष्कयवनादिभिर्जगति जृम्भमाणं भयम् । प्रकृष्टनिजशफिभिः प्रसभमायुधैः पञ्चभिः क्षितित्रिदशरक्षकैः क्षपय रङ्गनाथ क्षणात् ॥ मनुप्रभृतिमानिते महति रजधामादिके दनुप्रभवदारुणदरमुदीर्यमाणं परैः। प्रकृष्टगुणकः त्रिया बसुधया च सम्भुक्षितः प्रयुक्तकरणोदधे प्रशमय स्वशक्त्या स्वयम् ॥
