XY was making inquiries every day, about the state of affairs in and around Srirangam. When be heard that Srirangam was delivered from the hands of the Mahomedans by the Vijayanagar troops, he returned to that place. During the time be had to live away from Srirangam, Ranganatha (the Utsava idol) had to be an exile in different places, having bad to be removed from there when the Mahomedans sacrileged the temple and plundered the properties. He was worshipped in the several temples in the Southern districts for some time and then taken to Tirupati. From there he was taken to Gingee by Goppaparya, the then ruler of that fortress. He then took the God to Srirangam and reinstated him in his old place. This was done in the presence of our author. One of the Bhattars of the tem. ple had the following slokas composed by our author in commemoration of the event and got them inscribed on a wall inside the temple. The inscription exists even to this day. It is recorded in a pretty old commentary on a biography of our author known 48 the Vaibhavaprakasika, the biography and its commentary being both the productions of Vaishnavas of another sect. The Slokas are the following: आनीयानीलगायुतिरचितजगजनादजनारे श्वेञ्च्यामाराध्य कश्चित्समयमथ निहत्योडनुष्कांस्खलष्कान् । लक्ष्मीभूभ्यामुभाभ्यां सह निजनगरे स्थापयनरहनायं , सम्यग्वयों सपर्यो पुनरकृत यशोदर्पणो गोप्पणार्यः ।
