xxvit theological works in Sanskrit and Tamil. He has composed more than 401 verses in Tamil which are spoken of highly by Tamil Scholars. The Rahasyatrayasara was one of the works composed in the last years of his life. This work as well as the other Tamil works were intended for the benefit of those wbo could not read the Vedas. The Rahasyatrayasara is a beautiful and grand work. Many elaborate commentaries have been written upon it by different writers. Each chapter of the book opens or closes with Sanskrit and Tamil verses which sum up the teaching contained in it. The following Sloka lays down the manner in which a 974 (one who resigns himself completely into the bands of Providence) should spend his life. सन्तोषार्थ विमृशति मुहुः सद्भिरध्यात्मविद्या नित्यं ब्रूते निशमयति च स्वादुसुव्याहृतानि । अङ्गीकुर्वन्ननघललितां वृत्तिमादेहपाता. __ दृष्टादृष्टस्वभरविगमे दत्तदृष्टिः प्रपन्नः ॥ "The Prapanna frequently discusses with holy men the principles of religion for his own delight. In the intervals of the performance of his claily duties, every day he utters and listens to sweet words in praise of his Lord. He follows till his death an avocation free from sin and acceptable as being in the nature of service to God. He has no care as to his future here or hereafter having entrusted himself to God.”
