S. does not seem to be an o'd one, and so it is clear that the manuscript from which it was copied was written by Govinda Daivajna. lt was this Govinda Daivajna who was the writer of the Piyushadhara commentary on Muhurata Chintamani (Vide my Ganakatarangini, or Lives of Hindu astronomers): GOLADHYAYA. Chapter XIII. ݂ܛܳ Sloka 1 11 contain some questions on Arithmetic. Slokas 2.14 contain some questiolis on Geography. Slokas 15-57 contain questions on the Aharagana and the mean positions of planets Chapter XV. Sloka 1 gives reasons for writing on Arithmetic. Sloka 2 gives a description of addition and subtraction. Sloka 3 gives the method of multiplication. Sloka 4-5 give the method of division. Slokas 6-7 give the methods of finding the squares and cubes of numbers and of extracting the square root of a number. * Slokas 8-9 give the method of finding out the cube root of a number. sy: Slokas 10-11 give the 8 operations (addition, subtractlons, etc) performed on cipher and the methods of finding the sum of, and the difference between, an integer and a fraction.
