The gooul reception that these short pwears had when they were tead out to some of my friends here and elscwlicto gave me the courage to present them to the general reader in the form of a look. Several of these were published in the years 1010 and 1050 in tlic "Samskritam" the Sanskrit cckly of Ayodhya to the editor of which I take this opportunity to express my thanks. Tht collection consists of two parts. The first part contains pieces of a reflective saftre and the second part narrations. The poems liave been arranged in the chronolo- gical order of Useir composition. The pieces in the second jart crewritten rather than those in the first.
