INTRODUCTION The Karphiņabhyudaya was described for the first time in somo detail in the deseription of Manuscripts by Seşagiri Sastrin in the Report for the years 1893-4 issued from the Madras Government Oriontal Manuscripts Library It is onentioned in Aufrecht's Catalogus Catalogorura, Fol. I, pp. 79, 526, 654; Vol. II, p. 10; and Vol. III, p. 18. Professor F. W. Thomas in his edition of the Kavindratacarasumucekya (p: III 8.) bas mentioned this poor imcer its author Sivastamin. MANUSCRIFIS OF THE POEM The text of the present edition is based on the following Manuscripts :- Im The paltz-leaf (152"X139) Monuscript (114601 in Urisi charac, teis.containing 01 pages with 6 lines on a page. This belongs to the Govera- ment Oriental Manuscripts Library, Madrasa, it is complete in 20 cantos vand old in appearance. IN The pain-leaf" (114"x2") Manuscript in Nerari characters. It belongs to Elis Holiness Rájaguru Henarāja Pandita, C. I. E. DPI Nepal. The appearanse is old and it is incomplete. Only 34 folios are avail. aile, folios 3, 4-21; 26; 95 gre missing.
