24 Itānasiva gurudevapaddhati. hvaya" standing for Trivikrama, the name of whose father being given as Nārāyana. वाग् यस्याखिलवेदशास्त्ररूचिरा स्वात्मानुभूत्यूजिता यस्यानन्दमयं मनो भगवत्तः शान्तात्मनस्तस्य च । शिष्यस्तेन कृतार्द्रपादकुलजो नारायणस्यात्मज- श्शम्भोः पादसरोजरेणुमधुपः क्रान्तत्रिलोकाह्वयः ॥ टीकेयं पुरुषार्थसाधनमहा- तन्त्राब्धिनिर्मग्नधी- जालोन्नीतमहार्थरत्ननिचयै- निमत्सराणां सताम् माला साधुकृतार्थबोधविलसद् धीकामिनीमण्डना- यैषा सर्वसुखावहाः सुमतयो गृह्णान्त्विमं सूरयः ।।

It is only natural that such an authoritative work like Prapañcasāra is drawn upon by Iśānaśiva, especially in dealing with the origin and development of sound in the first part of his treatise. Versatility of the author A close study of IŚānaśivagurudevapaddhati would reveal the versatility of the Kerala scholar who made a substantial contri- bution of the Tantric literature. He has referred to by name fifteen scholars whose works formed the basis of his own writings. The total number of works that he refers to is over sixty. These works belong to diverse fields of study like Tantra, Purāna, Jyotişa, Ayurveda, Kalpa, Dharmaśāstra, Smrti literature Yoga- Sāstra, Vyākarana, Cchandas and Saivāgamas.
