As indicated earlier, all the five manuscripts on which the present edition has been based were made available for collation by Dr. K. Raghavan Pillai, Director of the Kerala University Oriental Research Institute and Manuscripts Library, Trivandrum. The authorities of the Panjab University, Chandigarh, kindly permitted me to be an Editor of the present series of volumes on Aryabhata.
