s discharged. The guilty man covers himself with

falsehcod. Therefore he gets burnt. The innocent man covers himself (wit: truth. Therefore the hot iron ball could not burr him. Sat is truth. The well practised meditation on the Sat-truth renders the pra ctiser Karma-proof. No Karma of his can have any cffect on him. He is freed from all of hisaccumulated Karma. So there is nothing to prevent him from at- taining Brahman. As soon as he gets out from his last body, he attains Brahman. Eight vere the questions that havy been raised and thus answered by Uddalaka. At the end of his answer to each o: the questions he repeats with a slight change the statements :- All this is ensouled by this subtility. That is Satya. That is Atma. That thou art. This repetition for nine times indicates the stress Uddalaka lays on these paints as the main and im. portant theme of his teachings
