RĀMACARITA. the performance of an original drama entitled Dhurta samagama' by Jyotirisvara Kavi Sekharācārya. Harisinha invaded Nepal, and since then the rajās of his family kept political connections with that kingdom, till about 1400 A.D. the descendants of Harisinha became, by marriage, the rulers of Nepal, and lost their position in Mithila by the rise of the Brahmana Rājās under Kameša. The kings of Mithila always patronised Sanskrit and vernacular literature; and it is possible to compile a connected literary history of Mithila from Nanya Deva up to very recent times. 17
