Itānsivaguru-The Author देवानृषीनपि पितृनतिथींस्तथाग्नीन् नित्योद्यतेन मनसा दिनशोऽचंयेद्यः ।
इष्टानवाप्य सकलानिह भोगजातान्
प्रेत्य प्रयाति परमं पदमादिपुंसः॥
इत्थं मूलप्रकृत्यक्षरविकृतिलिपि
वातजात ग्रहर्क्ष- नेत्राद्याबद्ध भूतेन्द्रियगुणरविच न्द्राग्निसंप्रोतरूपः। मन्त्रैस्तद् देवताभिर्मुनिभिरपि जप ध्यानहोमार्चनाभि- स्तन्त्रेऽस्मिन् पञ्चभेदैरपि कमलज ते दशितोऽयं प्रपञ्चः ।
There are numerous commentaries on the work. They include : Tattvadīpikā of Nāgasyāmi, Pradipa of Nārāyaṇa ; Vijñānadyotipi of Trivikrama ; Vivaraņa of Padmapāda ; Sambandhadipikā of Uttamabodha; Sāradīpini of Satyānanda ; Sarasangraha of Nityananda and some of anonymous authorship like Padarthadipikā. Some of the commentators have mentioned the greatness of their original author. For instance, Uttamabodba the author of Sambandhadipika states :
दृष्ट्वा यो दिव्यदृष्ट्या कलियुगसमये मन्दभाग्या मनुष्यास्तस्मात्तत्र प्रपञ्चस्सुरयजनविधि. मत्कृतो निष्फलः स्यात् ।
इत्याविर्भूय पृथ्व्यां पुनरपि कृतवान्
तन्त्रसारं गिरीशं
तं वन्दे शङ्कराख्यं महिततममन:
प्रार्थनीयार्थभूतम् ॥
In this stanza the author takes Sankara to be an incarnation Siva, the propounder of Agamas. The following stanzas occuring at the end of the Vijñānodyotini commentary of Trivikrama bring out the worth of the text. They also give the name of the commentator, the term "Krantatrilokās
