Tšānaśivagurudevapaddhati deals with all important functions of Kerala temples. The subject matter of the twelve sections may be given as Kșetrabhūlaksaņa, Prāsädalaksana, Bimbala kşaņa, Mandapasamskāra, Bimbaśuddhi, Pratişthā, Nityapūjā, Kalaśasnāna, Utsavavidhi, Prāyaścitta, Jirņoddhāra and Mantroddhāra. These topics are related to the deities Vişnu, Siva, Sankaranārāyaṇa, Durgā, Skanda, Ganapati and Śāstā. The Seșasamuccaya in ten sections deals with the same functions with regard to other deities like Brahmā, Sürya, Vaisravana, Sarasvati, Lakşmi etc. Several others also contributed to the field in later times. Some of the important contributions are: the Anusthānapaddhati of Parameśvara, Tāptrikakriyā of Krsnapāşāna Vipra, Anuşthānasamuccaya of Nārāyaṇa, Hariņi of Nārāyana belonging to Vyāgharagrāma, Kriyāsargraha of Sankara belonging to Gartāranya and Kriyaleśasmrti of Nilakantha. Many more works of shorter size are available dealing with cartain specific aspects of temple rituals. These works freely draw upon the standard text composed by earlier writers. Still for practical purposes these serve as manuals to priests of Kerala. Among such treaties the following deserve our attention. Pratişthāsangraha, Puşpāñjalividhāna, Bimbalakşaņa, Balikalpa, Jirņoddhāra etc., suggest their contents by their name. These and other works justify the Keral prasthāna in the field of Tantras. They form the basis for the Dakşiņācāra cult of Tantra of the south. Among them the Iśānasivagurudevapaddhati of Iśänaşivaguru warrants a unique position as a standard and comprehensive treatise that exerted its influence on later Tantric writers as well as works. The Manuşyālayacandrikā of Tirumangalattu Nila kantha (c. 16th century A.D.) has referred the work of Işāpaśivaguru as Gurudevapaddhati in the introductory stanzas to his Manuşyālayacandrikā- a work on household architecture. मयमतयुगलं प्रयोगमञ्ज ___र्यपि च निबन्धन भास्करीययुग्मम् । मनुमतगुरुदेवपद्धति श्री हरियजनादि महागमा जयन्ति ॥
