Slokas 38-4 show how to find out the right ascensions of the thirty-sixth parts of the ecliptic Slokas 42-45 give the method of finding out the ascendant (Triff )at a given time of the day. - Slokas 46-48 show how to find out the time of the day from the given position of the sun and the ascendant (art). Slokas 48-51 show how to find out the 12 zodiacal signs (tra ). Chapter v. (LUNAR ECLIPSE) Slokas 1-2 Show how to find out the important tithis for eclipses. 1st half of sloka 3 shows how to find out the important tithis for eclipses according to Parasara. - 1st half of sloka 4 gives the method of finding out the positions of the moon, etc. by the rule of proportion at the end of the tithi. Slokas 5-6 show how to, find out the diameters of the sun, moon and the earts shadow in seconds. Sloka 7 gives the method of finding the magnitude of the partial and the total eclipse. - Sloka 8 shows how to find out the duration of an eclipse and the time for which the sun or the moon is totaly eclipsed. Sloka 9 shows how to find out the times of the first contact, the beginning etc of a total eclipse. Sloka 10 shows how to find out the half duration by repeated process.
