अथ षष्ठः सर्गः

आमधिकारः पूर्वागतः ।

ओोषाञ्चकार कामाग्निर्दशवक्त्रमहर्निशम् ।
विदाञ्चकार वैदेहीं रामदम्यनिरुत्सुकाम् ॥ १ ॥

प्रजागराञ्चकाराऽरेरीहास्वनिशमादरात्
बिभयाम्प्रचकाराऽसौ काकुत्स्थावभिशङ्कितः ॥ २ ॥

न जिह्रयाञ्चकाराऽथ सीतामभ्ययं तजित:।
नाऽप्यूर्जा बिभरामास वैदेह्या प्रसितो भृशम् ॥ ३ ॥

"विदाङ्कुर्वन्तु रामस्य वृत्त" मित्यववत् स्वकान् ।
रक्षांसि रक्षितुं सीतामाशिषच्च प्रयत्नवान् ॥ ४ ॥

NOW CANTO VI

 1. The fire of love consumed Ravana day and night. He came to realise that the Videha princess (Sita) had no longing for anyone other than Rama.

 2. Through fear, he remained watchful, day and night, about the activities of Rama; and he feared excessively being very suspicious of the descendant of Kakutstha (Rama).

 3. Having supplicated Sita, he was not ashamed (though) reproached (by Sita). Nor, also, did he sustain his radiance, (being) excessively attached to Vaidehi (Sita).

 4. He said to his own (attendants) : 'Find out the activities of Rama. And, resorting to great caution, he commanded demonesses to guard Sita.
