श्रोत्राक्षि नसाघव सरुवमं कृत्वाऽऽजिने प्राक्शिरसं निधाय ।
संचित्य पात्राणि यथाविधानमृत्विग्जुहाव ज्वलितं चिताग्निम् ॥ ३५ ॥

कृतेषु पिण्डोदक सञ्चयेषु हित्वाऽऽभिषेकं प्रकृतं प्रजाभिः ।
प्रयनिनीषवनयेन रामं प्रायादरण्यं भरत सपौरः ॥ ३६ ॥

शीघ्रायमाणैः ककुभोऽश्नुवानैर्जनैरपन्थानमुपेत्य त: ।
शोकादभूषेरपि भश्चकासाञ्चकार नागेन्द्ररथाश्वमिश्रीः ॥ ३७ ॥

उच्चियिरे पुष्पफलं वनानि सस्नुः पितृन् पप्रिपुरापगासु ।
आरेडरिस्वा पुलिनान्यशठं छायां समाश्रिस्य विशअमुश्च ॥ ३८ ॥

सम्प्राप्य तीरं तमसापगाया गङ्गाम्बुसम्पर्कविशुद्धिभाजः ।
विगाहितुं यामुनमम्बु पुण्यं ययुनिरुद्धश्रमवृत्तयस्ते ॥ ३९ ॥


 35. Having made his (Dasaratha's) ears, eyes, nose and mouth full of gold, having laid him head eastwards on a deer skin, and having arranged the utensils according to relevant rites, the chief officiating priest offered oblations in the ignited funeral fire
