क्षिप्रं ततोऽध्वन्यतुरङ्गयायी यविष्ठवद् वृद्धतमोऽपि राजा।
आख्यायकेभ्यः धृतसूनुवृत्तिरग्लानयानो मिथिलामगच्छत् ॥ ४४ ॥

वृन्विष्ठमात्रं वसुधाधिपानां तं प्रेष्ठमेतं गुरुवद् गरिष्ठम् ।
सदृङ्महान्तं सुकृताधिवासं बंहिष्ठकीतियशसा वरिष्ठम् ॥ ४५ ॥

‘त्रिवर्गपारीणमसौ । भवन्तमध्यासयलासनमेकमिन्द्रः ।
विवेकदृश्वस्वमगात् सू राणां’ तं मैथिलो वाक्यमिवं बभाषे ॥ ४६ ॥

हिरण्मयी शाललतेव जङ्गमा च्युता विवः स्थास्नुरिवाऽचिरप्रभा ।
शशाङ्कान्ते रधिदेवत कृति: सुता बदे तस्य सुताय मैथिली ॥ ४७ ॥

लब्धततो विश्वजनीनवृत्तिस्तामाहमनीनामुववोढ रामः ।
सद्रत्नमुक्ताफलभर्म भूष सम्बंहयन्तीं रघवर्यं लक्ष्मीम् ॥ ४८ ॥


 44. Then, having heard of the achievement of his son from the reporters, the King, though aged, quickly went to Mithila like the youngest of men, riding speedy horses and not feeling tired during the march.

 45. Equal in merit, the most famous (Janaka) worshipped him (Dasaratha), the most venerable of the lords of the earth, the dearest, the most magnanimous , equalling a preceptor, the great abode of merit and the supermost in fame, who had (just) arrived.

 46. ‘Getting (you) seated on one and the same seat (throne, you who have attained extreme supremacy over the three ideals (of worldly life), that Indra attained among the gods the position of one having discriminative foresight." The king of Mithila spoke these words to him (Dasaratha)

 47. (Janaka) gave to his son, his (own) daughter (Sita), the princess of Mithila, (who was), as it were, a moving golden creeper hanging from a tree, like a steady lightning flash fallen from the sky and whose form was like that of the presiding deity of moonlight.
