नाऽनुरोत्स्ये जगल्लक्ष्मीं घटिष्ये जीवितुं न वा ।
न रंस्ये विषयै: शून्ये भवने बान्धवैरहम् ॥ २३ ॥

मोदिष्ये कस्य सौख्येऽहं को मे मोबिध्यते सुखे ।
अदेयाः किंकृते भोगाः कुम्भकर्ण ! त्वया विना ॥ २४४ ॥

या: सुहृत्सु विपन्नेषु मामुपैष्यन्ति संपदः ।
ताः किमन्युक्षताभोगा न विपत्सु विपत्तयः ॥ २५ ॥

‘विनङ्क्ष्यति पुरं क्षिप्रं तूर्णमेष्यन्ति वानराः ।
असधिरसोस्तवेत्येतद् विभीषणसुभाषितम् ॥ २६ ॥

'अर्थेन संभूता राज्ञा न भविष्यामहे वयम् ।
संयोत्स्यामह' इत्येतत् प्रहस्तेन च भाषितम् ॥ २७ ॥

मानुषो नाम पस्काषी राजन् पुरुषाशिनाम् ।
योधयिष्यति संग्रामे दिव्यास्त्ररथबुर्जयम् ॥ २८ ॥

 23. I shall not covet the riches of the world, nor shall I strive to live, nor shall I feel happy with sensuous objects in this palace which is devoid of kinsmen.

 24. Without you, Oh Kumbhakarna, in whose happiness shall I rejoice ? Who will exult in my happiness ? For what purpose should pleasures be acquired ?

 25 . Is it not that, with their dimensions pruned by grief, the riches that will come to mewhile my (well-wishingfriends are dead, will be disastrous among calamities !

 26. ‘‘This was well said by Vibhisapa, The monkeys will soon arrive(this) capital of yours, who are not desirous of peace, will perish ?'

 27. And this was said by Prahasta : 'Well nourished with money by the king, we shall not speak, (but) shall fight.

 28. Indeed, a human male, treading on feet, will force the King of the cannibals, invincible on account of his divine missiles and chariot, to fight in battle !
