तेऽभाषिषत "राजा त्वां दिदृक्षुः क्षणदाचर: !” ।
सोऽस्नासी व्यलिपन्मांसमप्सासीद् वारुणीमपात् ॥ ६ ॥

न्यवसिष्ट ततो द्रष्टुं रावणं प्रावृतद् गृहात् ।
राजाऽऽयान्तं तमद्राक्षीद् उदस्थाच्चेषदासनात् ॥ ७ ॥

अतुषत् पीठमासने निरविक्षच्च काञ्चनम् ।
अस्मेष्ट कुम्भकर्णाऽल्पमुपाविक्षदथाऽन्तिके ॥ ८ ॥

अबाबीन् ‘‘मां किमियाव' राज्ञा च प्रत्यवादि स: ।
‘‘म सीस्त्वं सुख रामो यदकार्षीत् स रक्षसाम् ॥ ९ ॥

उक्तारीख़ुदन्वन्तं पुरं नः परितोऽरुधत् ।
यद्योतिष्ट रणे शस्त्रैरसैषीद् राक्षसान् क्षयम् ॥ १० ।॥

न प्रावोचमहं किञ्चित् प्रियं यावदजीविषम् ।
बन्धुस्त्वमचतः स्नेहान् मा द्विषो न वधीर्मम ॥ ११ ॥

 6. They said, "Oh demon, the King is desirous of seeing you. " He bathed, anointed (himself), ate meat and drank Wine.

 7. Then he dressed to meet Ravana and started from (his) house. The King saw him coming and rose up slightly from the throne.

 8. He was pleased and pointed to a golden seat nearby. Kumbhakarna smiled and sat by his side.

 9. He said, What for did you summon me ?” And, he was replied to, by the King. "You (who are) happy need not know what Rama did to the demons.

 10. He crossed the ocean, besieged the city all around, shone with (his weapons) in the battle and brought the demons to ruin.

 11 . So long as I lived, I never solicited anything desir- able, not that, you, a brother, honoured with affection, might not kill my enemies.
